Ocean/Surf Forecast for 6/27/2008
SWELL:
(Arriving from the Northern Hemisphere)
This morning's 3 to 5 foot northwesterly (295°) swell (with
an 8-11 second period) will decrease to 3 to 4 feet by this
afternoon through tonight.
A 2 to 3 foot northwesterly (295°) swell (with a 9-11 second
period) will develop along our coastline on Saturday and will
continue at this height and period through Monday morning.
Increasing northwesterly winds along our coastline will generate a
2 to 3 foot northwesterly sea/swell (with a 5-10 second period)
on Monday afternoon, increasing to 3 to 5 feet (with a 5-8 second
period) on Tuesday through next Friday.
(Arriving from the Southern Hemisphere)
A long-period southern hemisphere (195°) swell will arrive
along our coastline tonight at 1 to 2 feet (with an 18-20 second
period) increasing to 2 to 3 feet (with a 17-19 second period)
by Saturday. This southern hemisphere (195°) swell will continue to
build to 3 to 4 feet (with a 15-17 second period) on Sunday and
will continue at this height and period Monday, gradually
decreasing on Tuesday through Wednesday.
SEAWATER TEMPERATURE:
Intake seawater temperatures will range between 51° and 53° through
today, increasing to 53° to 56° on Saturday, further increasing to
to 54° to 57° on Sunday through Monday.
SEAWATER VISIBILITY:
Seawater visibility was 28 to 30 feet at the Diablo Canyon Intake.
